The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning in several areas across the island.
Thundershowers with severe lightning are expected in several areas, including the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, Uva, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Polonnaruwa districts.
Temporary localized strong winds may occur during these thundershowers. The public were advised to take appropriate precautions to minimize potential damage from lightning. (Newswire)
