Two key Japanese projects in Sri Lanka recommences

  • Second Phase of BIA Development and TV Broadcast Digitization Projects Recommences with JICA Support

The Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Yamada Tetsuya, along with a delegation of senior representatives, met with the Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, this afternoon (01) at the Presidential Secretariat.

The discussion focused on the second phase of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Development Project, implemented by JICA, and the immediate launch of the Terrestrial Television Broadcast Digitization Project.

In a recent meeting with the Secretary to the President, the Japanese Ambassador emphasized the need for the swift completion of 11 ongoing projects supported by JICA. Today’s discussion centered on accelerating the progress of these initiatives.

Mr. Katsuhiro Suzuki, the Second Secretary of the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka, along with other officials, also attended the meeting. (PMD)
