The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to probe diplomatic appointments granted to children, relatives, and friends of politicians during the tenure of the former regime.
Speaking to the media yesterday, Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said the Foreign Ministry was preparing a comprehensive report regarding such diplomatic appointments.
Minister Herath has also instructed Foreign Ministry officials to submit a full report in this regard.
Stating that the government will take steps to recall those appointed based on political affiliation, he said, however, they will not be recalled immediately and that it would take some time. (Newswire)
