The representatives further said that the price of a 1 litre water bottle has been reduced to Rs. 100, but is currently being sold at Rs. 150.

The 1.5 litre bottle has been proposed to be sold at Rs. 130, instead of the current rate of Rs. 170 or Rs. 180. The 5 litre bottled water is being sold at Rs. 400 to Rs. 450, but is proposed to be sold at Rs. 300, they said.

The Sri Lanka Standard Bottled Water Association pointed out that the shop owners will continue to profit under the proposed prices, urging them to provide concessions to the public through the reduced prices. (Newswire)
