Former Minister Dr. Nalaka Godahewa stated that he is currently an “observer” while the new government deserves a chance to fulfill its promises.

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Godahewa mentioned that he entered politics five years ago, becoming the top candidate in the Gampaha district in his first election and subsequently rising to state minister and cabinet minister positions.

He added that he stood with the people two and a half years ago when they expressed dissatisfaction with the government, joining the opposition as an independent MP.

“Stability is what our country needs most, and I am happy to be an observer, as my only expectation is the well-being of our people,” he concluded.
