Speaking directly to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, a victim of the 2019 Easter Attacks vented his frustrations on the authorities’ failure to provide justice, claiming that all politicians were privy to the warning on the attacks.

The individual made the remark during an opportunity to present questions to the President during the latter’s visit to the St.Sebastian Church Katuwapitiya in Negombo yesterday.

Responding to the allegation, President Dissanayake clarified that only the Special Security Personnel of High Profile Politicians had been warned of the possibility of an attack.

He reminded that he and his fellow party members in Parliament at the time had not acquired special security during their tenure.

Outlining the ways justice can be served related to the Easter attacks, the President said firstly, identifying those involved in the attacks through investigations and punishing those responsible.

Secondly, taking all measures to prevent the occurrence of a similar incident in the future.

And finally, if the system has failed due to politics, then restructuring the failed system through politics, as the system cannot be amended without politics due to everything being centred around it, he said. (Newswire)
