The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs is set to initiate legal action against members of the former government who continue to withhold official residences, it was reported.
According to NewsFirst, a Ministry official said only 14 out of 41 official residences allocated have been returned following the regime change.
The Ministry official said that a total of 41 residences in Colombo and surrounding areas had been allocated to ministers of the former government.
The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs had issued a notice calling for the return of the official residences, soon after the 2024 Presidential Election.
However, only 14 residences have been returned thus far, prompting action from the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs. (Newswire)
