A three-year-old child has died in a multi-vehicle collision reported in Gampola Town along the Gampola – Nawalapitiya Road last afternoon.
The Police said a Jeep had collided with a three-wheeler during which the driver and a three-year-old child had been thrown out of the vehicle.
The jeep had proceeded to crash into the cart of a street vendor and had then crashed into another three-wheeler.
The driver of the three-wheeler, the child, and the street vendor who had sustained injuries in the accident had been admitted to the Gampola Hospital, during which the three-year-old boy had succumbed to injuries.
The driver of the Jeep has been arrested, while the Gampola Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
