The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning effective until 11.30 pm today.
Accordingly, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Western, Southern, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva and North-western provinces.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
