Central Expressway: Minister instructs timeline for 3rd phase completion

Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Minister Vijitha Herath inspected the progress of the third phase of the Central Expressway from Potuhera to Rambukkana on Saturday (09).

According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, the minister provided necessary instructions to officials regarding the requirements of this road section during the visit.

Accordingly, the minister has directed the officials to complete the construction of this segment by end of 2025.

The project, which began in 2023, has an estimated total cost of Rs. 210 billion to complete up to Galagedara. This four-lane highway stretches 32.4 kilometers from Potuhera to Galagedara. (NewsWire)
