The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory for severe lightning in 19 districts, effective until 11.30 pm today.
Accordingly, thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are likely to occur at several places in the Western, Sabragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western, North-Central, and Southern Provinces and in the Mannar and Vavuniya Districts.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
