The Constitutional Council has approved the recommendation to appoint Justice Murdu Nirupa Bidushinie Fernando as the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka.
Last month, Justice Fernando was appointed as Acting Chief Justice, stepping into the role temporarily. With the Constitutional Council’s formal endorsement, her position is now set to be permanent, marking a significant milestone in her judicial career.
