The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) says minor floods have been reported in two areas, while a flood alert has been issued to one area due to the water levels of the Nilwala River and Yan-Oya as of 06.30 am today.
According to the DMC, minor floods have been reported in the Thalgahagoda and Panadugama areas due to a rise in the water levels of the Nilwala River.
Meanwhile, a flood alert has been issued to the Horrowpathana area due to the rising water levels of the Yan-Oya.
The DMC has also issued landslide warnings to six districts effective until 04.00 pm today.
Accordingly, Level 1 Yellow Alerts have been issued to the Badulla, Galle, Kegalle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, and Ratnapura Districts. (Newswire)
