Rajasthan Royals stunned everyone after they bought 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for a whopping INR 1.10 Crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. With this, Suryavanshi also became the youngest ever player to feature in an IPL season. The young cricket prodigy from Bihar registered himself for the mega auction at a base price of INR 30 Lakh.
Who is Vaibhav Suryavanshi?
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a 13-year-old cricketer, who hails from Bihar and also plays for the state in domestic cricket. He has also played for India B under-19 team and has record for smashing the fastest hundred in Under-19 Tests. Suryavanshi smashed a hundred off just 58 balls in his maiden red-ball match against Australia Under-19 at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in October 2024. The right-hander took charge of the Australian bowler smashing 14 fours and four sixes during his knock.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his first-class debut for Bihar during the Ranji Trophy match against Mumbai in Patna on January 5, 2024. With this, he became the fourth-youngest Indian player to make his first-class debut at the age of 12 years and 284 days. Suryavanshi has played for Bihar in the Cooch Behar Trophy, where he scored 151(128) in one of the matches. The young batter smashed 22 fours and three sixes during his knock.
