Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe has said that the National People’s Power (NPP) government will reduce electricity tariffs by over 30% within the next three years.
“We have proposed a five-year plan to develop renewable power generation. As promised by the President, the NPP government will definitely lower electricity bills by more than 30% in the next three years,” he said.
Responding to reporters’ questions on Sunday (December 1), he added that the government also plans to significantly reduce the prices of essential goods during the upcoming festive season. (NewsWire)
