President Anura Dissanayake departed Sri Lanka today on a three-day official visit to India at the invitation of Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
Accompanying the President on this visit are Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath and Labour Minister Anil Jayanta.
The delegation left for India aboard Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL 195 and is scheduled to arrive in India at 5:30 PM today.
During the visit, President Dissanayake is set to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss and finalize several key agreements. Additionally, he is expected to hold discussions with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and several other dignitaries, including:
– Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar
– National Security Advisor Mr. Ajit Doval
– Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar
– Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
– Health Minister J.P. Nadda
As part of the visit, the President and his delegation will travel to the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya on December 17. They are expected to return to Sri Lanka via New Delhi after concluding the visit.
