A protest was staged opposite the United States Embassy in Colombo today, calling for the end of conflict in the Middle East and what protestors said were ‘US imperialism’
Human rights activists at the demonstration said that as Sri Lankans who lived through war, they are calling for the end of Israel’s genocide in Palestine.
“Because of a genocide that has been going on for over a year, children, expectant mothers, youth have all been murdered. Let Palestinians live in their homeland,” protestors said, alleging that the United States was funding as well supplying arms for the conflicts in the Middle East. (Newswire)
