A Russian national who attempted to smuggle a stock of “Kush” drugs worth approximately Rs. 10 million, cleverly concealed in his luggage, was arrested yesterday (23) by officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The suspect, a 34-year-old Russian national employed as an IT professional was found to be involved in cultivating, processing, and distributing “Kush” drugs globally, according to initial investigations conducted by the PNB.
The drugs, weighing 1.05 kilograms, were concealed inside a travel pillow, modified with sponge padding. The suspect was apprehended while attempting to smuggle the narcotics out of the airport. (Newswire)
