Applications called for National Commission on Women

Applications have been called for the appointment of members to the National Commission on Women, the Parliament of Sri Lanka announced today.

Under the provisions of the Women Empowerment Act No. 37 of 2024, the Constitutional Council has called for applications from among the persons having distinguished themselves in public life with proven knowledge, experience and eminence in several fields to be recommended for the appointment as members of the National Commission on Women.

According to a Parliament statement, the applications of the individual applicants should be prepared in accordance with the information form ‘A’ and the nominations should be prepared in accordance with the information form ‘B’ which are available on the Parliamentary website www.parliament.lk with a quick link named ‘Appointment of members of the National Commission on Women’.

The duly completed applications/nominations should be sent to; the Secretary-General to the Constitutional Council, Constitutional Council – Office, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayewardenapura Kotte on or before 20th January 2025 by registered post or by e-mail to constitutionalcouncil@parliament.lk.

If nominations are sent, forms should be completed personally by the nominee, and forwarded to the Constitutional Council by the nominating authority.
