A new Police Post has been set up in the Badaovita area in Mount Lavinia, an area known for an increased presence in crimes related to drug peddling.
The newly established Badaovita Police Post was declared open by Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security Ravi Seneviratne and the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya on Wednesday ( Jan 01).
The Police Post is located at 545A in the Katukurundhuwatte Grama Seva Division which consists of 3250 houses and a population of 12,990 persons.
Sri Lanka Police said the Badaovita Police Post has been established with the aim of curbing drug peddling and other crimes in the area. (Newswire)
