The prevailing showery conditions in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces are expected to temporarily reduce from today (Jan 03), according to the Department of Meteorology.
As such, several spells of showers will occur in the Uva province and the Ampara and Hambantota districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the afternoon or night.
Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, Eastern, North-central and North-western provinces and Hambantota district.
Misty conditions can be expected in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts in the morning.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
