Based on information provided by the Army Intelligence Corps, the Special Task Force conducted a raid yesterday (3 January) in Phase 4 of Velanai, Jaffna.
During the operation, a stock of foreign-manufactured pesticides valued at approximately 50 million rupees was seized along with three suspects.
The confiscated pesticides are as follows:
• Anucron: 2,900 bottles
• Leokem: 2,248 bottles
• Rocket: 29,175 packets
• Prison: 29,109 packets
This is the largest cache of illegal pesticides discovered in Sri Lanka so far, according to the Army Spokesman. Investigations are ongoing (NewsWire)
