A 12-year-old boy was reported dead in a three-wheeler accident reported in the Rajanganaya area along the Anuradhapura- Puttalam main road last night.
The Police said the three-wheeler had attempted to avoid a stray dog and had swerved, after which it had toppled over and had been dragged, eventually colliding with a bus plying in the opposite direction.
The driver of the three-wheeler and a child, who was the passenger, had been admitted to the Nochchiyagama Hospital with injuries, during which the boy had succumbed to injuries.
The deceased has been identified as a 12-year-old resident of Welihena, Chillaw.
The driver of the bus was arrested in connection to the accident, while the Rajanganaya Police is conducting investigations. (Newswire)
