India has committed SLR 300 million to supply single cabs to police stations in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province. The High Commission of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 15 with Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to implement the initiative.

The agreement, signed by Indian High Commissioner H.E. Santosh Jha and Secretary D.W.R.B. Seneviratne, includes the delivery of at least 80 single cabs, spare parts, and accessories. Officials from the Ministry of Public Security, the Sri Lanka Police, and the Ministry of Finance also attended the signing ceremony.

The project aims to enhance law enforcement capabilities and public safety by improving police mobility and operational efficiency in the Northern Province.
