A fire at a plastic goods store in the Galle Thanipol Junction area forced the closure of the Galle-Mapalagama main road for over two hours, reporters said.
The blaze, which began around 7:10 PM today (18), was contained after 45 minutes with efforts from three fire engines and three water bowsers from the Galle Municipal Council, a fire engine from the Navy, police officers, local residents, and naval personnel.
Galle Police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
