President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says he hopes to visit the Middle East in February this year.
The President said he has already received invitations from some Middle Eastern countries.
President Dissanayake revealed that discussions were ongoing with these countries regarding obtaining petroleum.
He further said that discussions are underway to acquire petroleum through government-to-government cooperation.
The President said as such, to ensure the success of these discussions, there are plans to visit the Middle East next month.
