The Police opened fire at a car that had failed to stop at a checkpoint in the Grandpass area last night.
Officials from the Colombo North Division Crimes Investigation Unit had chased after the vehicle and opened fire in the Maligawatte area.
Following the shooting, two suspects in the car had been arrested with stocks of illicit liquor. (Newswire)
