A foreign tourist was reported dead due to drowning, while two foreign children were rescued in the seas off Ahungalla in the Southern Province on Sunday.
The Police said the 54-year-old Ukrainian man and two Ukrainian children aged 13 and 17 years had gone sea bathing when strong currents swept them away.
Police lifeguard officers on duty at the beach had rescued the three tourists, after which the Ukrainian man died after being admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital. (Newswire)
