Sri Lanka has recorded 5,459 dengue cases as of February 4, 2025, according to the Health Ministry’s Disease Surveillance Unit, with two dengue-related deaths reported this year.
The highest number of cases, 44.7%, was recorded in the Western Province, with 2,439 cases, including 849 in Gampaha and 740 in Colombo.
The Southern Province reported 673 cases, the Eastern Province 545 cases, and the Central Province 520 cases.
In 2024, the country recorded a total of 49,873 dengue cases. Health authorities urge the public to take preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease. (Newswire)
