Former Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake questioned in Parliament how President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has the confidence to ask about the wellbeing of the northern people.
The minister said the President recently visited Kankasanthurai where he asked the people in Tamil, “Nallama?” inquiring about their wellbeing.
“Arisi illai, uppu illai!” former Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake said, questioning how the President can ask the people of the North if everything is well when the government has failed to provide basic necessities such as rice and salt.
Dassanayake said that the more members of this government speak up, the more votes they risk losing. “One person asked the people not to eat pol sambol or kiri hodi. What will they eat?” he questioned. (Newswire)
