Colombo High Court has sentenced a Central Mail Exchange office assistant to 28 years of rigorous imprisonment, to be completed within seven years, for accepting a bribe of Rs. 11,000.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 31,000.
The Bribery Commission filed charges against the accused for soliciting a bribe from a businessman on September 19, 2016, to release 30 imported CCTV camera units without customs duties. (Newswire)
