A tragic incident was reported from the Paleiwadi area in the Puliyankulam police division, where a 7-year-old child lost his life due to electrocution.
According to the Puliyankulam Police, the child suffered an electric shock on the night of February 7 and was rushed to the Vavuniya Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon admission.
The deceased was identified as a resident of Paleiwadi, Puliyankulam. Investigations have revealed that the child was electrocuted after coming into contact with an electric current from a water pump.
The body has been placed at the Vavuniya Hospital mortuary for further examination, while Puliyankulam Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
