The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has confirmed that power supply has been disrupted again in multiple areas due to the inactivation of three generators at the Norochcholai coal power plant.
“Due to the three generators of the Norochcholai power station becoming non-operational, the power supply to some areas needs to be limited” General Manager CEB told Newsfirst.
The development follows the earlier island-wide power outage, with authorities working to restore electricity.
Further updates on the situation are expected.
