Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka PLC., the company behind Sri Lanka’s leading app-based mobility technology platform, PickMe, hosted its annual ‘Nena Pahana’ Loyalty Rewards event for the 8th consecutive year. The event, held on 12th February 2025 at the Lotus Hall, BMICH, is a core initiative under PickMe’s driver benefit and loyalty programme, designed to provide crucial educational support for the school-going children of PickMe’s independent third party drivers.

Since its inception in 2018, ‘Nena Pahana’ has been instrumental in empowering the children of high-performing drivers, with over 4,150 students benefiting from the programme. This year, the initiative will continue its mission by distributing gift vouchers to over 650 students, ensuring they receive the necessary school supplies for their academic journey. With an overall investment of Rs. 20 million to date and an additional Rs. 7.5 million earmarked for 2025, PickMe remains committed to making a positive impact on its driver community.

Prioritising Driver Welfare

PickMe’s approach to driver welfare goes beyond competitive earnings. The company ensures real-time settlements to their independent third party drivers through its app (under my My Finance feature), ensuring earnings are transferred to their bank accounts without any transaction fees. PickMe also offers comprehensive 24/7 call center support for both drivers and consumers, a unique loyalty and rewards system, and tailor-made insurance packages at discounted rates.

Branch support is another key differentiator, with an expanding island-wide network ensuring accessibility and assistance for drivers. This extensive support structure fosters a seamless operation, promoting better service quality and reliability for consumers as well as convenience for drivers.

How Drivers Qualify for ‘Nena Pahana

Eligibility for the ‘Nena Pahana’ initiative is based on a stringent selection process, evaluating drivers on multiple performance metrics beyond monetary contributions. Factors such as service quality and reliability, along with positive consumer feedback play a vital role in determining the recipients. Only drivers from the Platinum category of PickMe’s loyalty ranking qualify for the award.

Jiffry Zulfer, Founder and CEO of PickMe, emphasises the importance of this initiative, “We strongly believe that supporting drivers extends beyond financial benefits. Through ‘Nena Pahana’ we contribute to the future of our community while ensuring the drivers remain motivated to provide quality service to their customers consistently”.

A Holistic Approach to Driver Support

Beyond ‘Nena Pahana,’ PickMe offers extensive benefits to its driver community. Drivers receive life insurance coverage up to Rs. 3 million in partnership with Co-Operative Insurance. They are also rewarded through daily, weekly, and monthly incentives. To further ease their financial burden, PickMe facilitates access to exclusive discounts on fuel and vehicle maintenance through various third party  partnerships. During times of crisis, such as economic hardships and the COVID-19 pandemic, the company stepped up by offering special fuel quotas, medical check-ups, and dry ration distributions. PickMe also provides cash vouchers for drivers’ children who excel in Grade 5 Scholarship Exams, G.C.E. Ordinary Levels, and Advanced Levels. Drivers also enjoy specially discounted mobile communication plans, access to subsidised services through third-party partnerships in areas such as health and vehicle care.

These initiatives are part of the broader PickMe Pramuka driver loyalty scheme, which is designed to enhance driver re-engagement, service quality, and efficiency.

PickMe, through initiatives like ‘Nena Pahana,’ is actively shaping the quality and seamless integration of mobility technology within the transportation ecosystem of Sri Lanka by investing in the well-being of drivers and their families, especially in the support of education. By promoting strong partnerships and prioritising driver welfare, PickMe ensures that both drivers and consumers continue to experience high-quality, reliable service.
