Missing Mt. Lavinia Policeman’s T-56 Rifle Recovered

The T56 assault rifle belonging to the missing police constable from the Mount Lavinia Police has been recovered, police confirmed.

The weapon, along with 30 rounds of ammunition, was found buried in a garden in Badovita, Mount Lavinia, during a police operation.

The constable, who went missing recently, is suspected to have traveled to Dubai. His sudden disappearance raised concerns, prompting an investigation that led to the discovery of his firearm.

Following the recovery, a 41-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the case. Authorities are probing his role and any potential links to the missing officer.

The Mount Lavinia Police and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are continuing further investigations.
