The Department of Immigration and Emigration in Battaramulla will operate 24/7 from today onwards to issue passports.
Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala said a special bus service will also be operated from Pettah to Battaramulla from tonight for the convenience of those requiring to obtain passports.
Speaking to Newswire, Minister Wijepala further said that 4000 passports will be issued per day at the Department of Immigration and Emigration in Battaramulla.
He also stated that plans are underway to open a Passport Office in Jaffna next month. (Newswire)
