Sri Lanka Police have released an official statement confirming the death of underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa in a shooting inside a Colombo Court Complex today.
According to the statement, Ganemulla Sanjeewa who sustained serious injuries in the shooting was pronounced dead after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
The Police state preliminary investigations confirm that the shooting had been carried out by a suspect disguised as a lawyer.
The revolver used in the shooting has been found by the Police within the court premises.
The Keselwatte Police is conducting investigations to apprehend the suspect involved in the shooting. (Newswire)
