A report by the National Audit Office has revealed that the physical existence of 176 out of 257 vehicles registered under the Ministry of Finance has not been confirmed.
According to Dinamina newspaper citing information from the Department of Motor Traffic for the year 2023, the existence of these vehicles could not be verified.
The report also noted that no information was submitted for 99 of these vehicles.
The Chief Accounting Officer informed auditors that efforts are underway to locate details regarding the 176 vehicles in question.
The audit report recommended that the Ministry verify the ownership and physical presence of all vehicles registered under its name.
Additionally, as of December 31, 2023, the Ministry had released 44 vehicles to other institutions without formally transferring ownership.
The report further stated that 11 vehicles had been acquired from other institutions without completing proper transfer procedures. (Newswire)
