Water supply disruptions have been reported in parts of Colombo, Kalutara, Ratnapura, Matara, and Kandy due to ongoing dry weather, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said.
Falling reservoir levels have led to increased water distribution via bowser trucks, and the public is urged to conserve water.
Meanwhile, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) reported rising power generation costs, with more thermal and fuel oil plants in operation.
The Norochcholai Power Plant is running at full capacity, while hydroelectric power contributes 20% of daytime and 40% of nighttime electricity generation. (Newswire)
