A 13-year-old Russian girl was rescued from drowning at Narigama Beach, Hikkaduwa on February 26, 2025.
She was swept away by strong currents while swimming but was saved by Hikkaduwa Police Life-Saving Unit lifeguards on duty.
Rescuers included Sub-Inspector Deshapriya and Police Constables Duminda, Kanishka, Kumara, Dissanayake, and Jayasinghe.
She received initial medical assistance after the rescue. (Newswire)
