A former commissioner and a senior probation officer of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services in the North Central Province have been arrested in connection with a child cruelty case involving a 17-year-old girl at an orphanage in Anuradhapura in 2021.
The suspects, aged 49 and 57, were taken into custody following investigations into the incident.
