The Office of the Governor of the Western Province is pleased to invite all Sri Lankans, regardless of faith or background, to a unique and vibrant celebration, “Salam Ramadan,”from March 21st to 23rd, 2025. This exciting event will take place at the Green Path, Colombo, from 5:00 PM onwards each day, showcasing the spirit of togetherness that binds us all.
As Sri Lanka continues to celebrate its rich cultural diversity, “Salam Ramadan* brings together the country’s four Muslim denominations for the first time in a spectacular display of food, culture, and unity. The Moor, Memon, Malay, and Dawoodi Bohracommunities will present their unique culinary offerings, providing an unforgettable opportunity for all to taste the finest dishes from every corner of the Muslim community in Sri Lanka, all at one location.
The event will feature over 50 food stalls, with major hotels and food vendors offering a diverse range of culinary delights. This is a family-friendly event, where visitors of all ages can enjoy an array of food, entertainment, and cultural experiences.
Prayer Facilities For Muslim attendees, a designated space for Obligatory prayers will be available at the venue. Additionally, the Vihara Maha Devi Park next to Green Path will serve as a space for breakfast at sunset.
Visitors can also explore the CIS Harmony Center for a unique walkthrough of Islamic Faith and Culture, complete with a Q&A session. Don’t miss the Traditional Headdress Corner, where you can learn about Islamic attire, and the Calligraphy Corner, where your name will be beautifully inscribed in Arabic script.
