Budget 2025 passed in Parliament

The third reading of the Appropriation Bill (2025) was passed with a majority of 114 in Parliament a short while ago.

The Bill was passed in Parliament with 159 votes in favour and 45 against.

The final day of the committee stage debate focused on the expenditure head of the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Affairs.

The second reading of the Appropriation Bill was passed on February 25 with a majority of 109 votes. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake presented the 2025 Budget to Parliament on February 10. (Newswire)
