Sri Lanka’s inflation rate, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), recorded a slight increase to -3.9% in February 2025, compared to -4.0% in January 2025, according to the latest report from the Department of Census and Statistics.

Despite remaining in negative territory, the year-on-year decline in overall price levels has slightly eased, reflecting a gradual stabilization in the cost of goods and services.

Food inflation also saw a marginal increase, reaching -1.1% in February 2025, up from -2.5% in January 2025. Meanwhile, non-food inflation stood at -6.0%, showing a slight adjustment from the previous month.
