The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory for severe lightning during showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces and Kurunegala, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, and Ampara districts.
According to the department, the weather advisory is effective until 11.30 pm today.
The public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
