China has announced that it will impose 84% tariffs on certain goods imported from the United States, starting from April 10. The move comes in response to US President Donald Trump’s announcement of 104% tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.

According to China’s Ministry of Finance, the new tariff rate marks an increase from the previously announced 34% on US goods.

Both countries have imposed several rounds of tariffs on each other’s goods since the start of the US-China trade tensions. (Newswire)
