Sri Lanka welcomed 56,567 international tourists from April 1 to 9, 2025, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
This marks a steady continuation of the country’s tourism recovery, with the top source markets during the first nine days of April being India (18.7%), the United Kingdom (13.6%), and Russia (10.9%). Other significant contributors include Australia, Germany, France, and Bangladesh.
Daily arrivals ranged between 5,634 and 6,934, with the highest number recorded on April 5. From January to April 9, Sri Lanka has received 778,843 tourists.
Meanwhile, Tourism earnings for March 2025 reached USD 354 million (Rs. 104.8 billion), reflecting a 4.6% increase from the previous month and a 4.6% year-on-year rise in rupee terms. Total earnings for the first quarter of 2025 now stand at USD 1.12 billion, up 9.4% compared to the same period in 2024. (Newswire)
