Sri Lanka’s tourism sector has experienced significant growth in the first quarter of 2025, with arrivals and earnings showing impressive year-on-year increases, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
Tourist arrivals between January and March 2025 reached 722,276, a 13.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when arrivals stood at 635,784.
Earnings from the tourism sector surpassed USD 1 billion, totaling USD 1,122.3 million, reflecting a 9.4% rise from USD 1,025.9 million in the first quarter of 2024. (NewsWire)
