A heartbreaking incident was reported from Rukmalkandura in the Balangoda Police Division, where a father accidentally ran over his one-year-and-seven-month-old son while reversing a lorry.
According to police, the incident occurred when the 39-year-old driver was attempting to reverse a parked lorry opposite a house. The child, who was seriously injured in the accident, was rushed to the Balangoda Hospital but was pronounced dead upon admission.
The driver, identified as the child’s father, has been taken into police custody as investigations continue. (NewsWire)
