The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for severe lightning for the Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.
According to the department, the weather advisory is effective until 11.00 pm today.
The public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
